6 Questions about Deer Hunting with Buddy Groom
Buddy Groom of BuckVentures Outdoors has a busy hunting schedule for this Fall. We wanted to see what he will be up to for the coming season.
Taylor: What do you have planned for the 2016 season?
Buddy: I have a September Elk hunt in Colorado, 2 whitetail hunts in Oklahoma, at least 1 Texas hunt, a whitetail/mule deer hunt in Nebraska, a Kansas muzzleloader hunt, and finally, possibly an Ohio whitetail hunt. It’s going to be an exciting, jam-packed season.
Taylor: What hunts are you most looking forward to?
Buddy: Having the opportunity to hunt elk this year is really exciting. It will be my first time hunting for Elk. Hunting in Kansas is always exciting as well.
Taylor: What is your biggest goal for the 2016 season?
Buddy: My goals for the 2016 season are to have lots of fun and hopefully, harvest my first Elk. It will be a challenge but I think we can get it done!
Taylor: What are your favorite species to hunt in the fall?
Buddy: Whitetails are always first on my list. They pose the biggest challenge in my opinion. Hunting Mule deer is always exciting, but there’s nothing quite like taking a big whitetail. The challenge makes it that much sweeter.
Taylor: Where is your favorite place to hunt?
Buddy: Kansas is always my favorite place because you never know what may show up. There are some true monster bucks out there.
Taylor: How are you beginning to prepare for the season?
Buddy: I’m getting my bow sighted in and practicing every day to be ready for a big Elk. I’m preparing to make the most of that moment when the big bull steps into range.
