Nate Treadaway Takes Over as CEO
BPI Outdoors’ head of operations, Nate Treadaway, assumed the title of Chief Executive Officer effective June 15. Treadaway succeeds long-time BPI chief Dudley McGarity in a scheduled step of the Company’s ongoing succession/reorganization plan.
Treadaway, 43, has spent most of his professional career with BPI Outdoors and has held various roles within the Company. During his 15 year tenure, he has accumulated a broad range of experience in virtually every aspect of the business – including sales, marketing, product development, operations, manufacturing, accounting, and finance. “We have in Nate a fully qualified and exceptionally capable manager who essentially grew up within our organization,” McGarity stated, “and he is perfectly prepared to lead BPI into its future.”
Treadaway says, “I would like to thank our Board of Directors, as well as our employees, for having faith in me to lead this wonderful organization. BPI Outdoors has experienced unprecedented growth under Dudley McGarity’s helm and we have more opportunities in our line of sight today than at any point in our long history. Ultimately, though,” he continued “it will be our “best in class” staff that will continue to propel us forward in this highly competitive and extremely volatile environment.”
Nate’s vision for the future has BPI continuing to innovate while staying loyal to what they do well. “We believe that our immediate success, as well as our future, revolves around the world of highly accurate rifled gun barrels. It does not mean we will only make rifle barrels, but what we consider as ‘the soul of our business’ will always weigh heavily when it comes to the development of new products. We are going to listen closely to our customers, continue to be on the leading edge of consumer demands, and will do so with a progressive yet nimble approach to the market. We will not tolerate mediocrity from our employees or our products nor will we allow complacency to enter any aspect of our business.”
Nate’s role will be a blend of both “strategic” (planning) and “tactical” (execution) over the next 3 years. Dudley, in turn, will continue to gradually reduce his day-to-day management and will ultimately provide more of an advisory role.
