Why You Need the CVA Scout V2 Pistol
In recent years, pistols have become popular with a wide variety of hunters and shooters across the nation. In the West, the pistol always has been considered a hunting tool as well as a self-defense weapon. But the major problem with shooting a pistol is often holding it steady enough to aim accurately. Fortunately Quake Industries has solved that problem for many CVA Scout V2 pistol enthusiasts with the Quake Stack-A-Rest www.quakeinc.com/stack-a-rest.php that weighs in at only 10 ounces. Also, the single-shot, break-action Scout V2 pistol features a stock that’s designed for two-handed shooting with one hand on the pistol grip and the other on the forestock for accurate shots out to 100 yards.
In my opinion, the 3.7-pound Scout V2 pistol is best used to get rid of nuisance animals. In the Far West, nuisance animals primarily have been coyotes. However, with the migration of coyotes into more eastern states and communities, the coyote has become the number-two predator on many landowners’ lists, with the number-one nuisance animal the feral hog. If outdoorsmen aren’t careful, we’ll let feral hogs destroy our crops and our drinking water, kill and eat our wildlife and root-up our roads as they’ve done in various parts of the U. S. I shoot all the feral hogs I can take whenever I see them, and my home state of Alabama as well as some other states, don’t have closed seasons or limits on them.
The pure predator hunter, who mainly wants to take coyotes, foxes, bobcats, coons, skunks and possums (several of these predators prey on turkey nests, eating the eggs and the young poults), will enjoy the CVA Scout V2 pistol in the .243 caliber. You’ll be surprised at the range and the accuracy you can attain with this pistol. The .243 also is a great handgun for taking deer. For hunters who want more knock-down power to take big game like elk, black bear and brown bear, CVA offers the Scout V2 pistol in the .357 Magnum and the .44 Magnum.
Other reasons why I enjoy shooting the CVA Scout V2 pistol include:
* its superb accuracy. If you talk to anyone who owns the Scout V2 pistol, its extreme accuracy and ability to stay on target are probably two of the first features mentioned;
* the smooth shooting it offers – low recoil even with heavy loads;
* its lifetime warranty;
* its stainless-steel fluted barrel;
* its breeching mechanism integrated into the trigger guard;
* its DuraSight Z2 rail (www.durasight.com) that’s composed of an alloy material that’s 50% stronger than aluminum; and
* its availability in .243, .44 Mag, .357 Mag and .300 blackout.
You’ll find handgun target shooting and hunting very addictive. This season when you’re in your favorite sporting-goods shop or gun store, check out the feel and the handling ability of these unique Scout V2 pistols. More than likely, if you hold one longer than 10 minutes, one of these pistols will be riding home with you.
